“Pointers are phrases that can be used to ‘go beyond’ the intellectual mind to experience reality as it is, completely unconditioned. The most famous pointer is the simple question, ‘who am I?’ The goal is not to form an intellectual/conceptual answer but to feel the answer. Using pointers is a form of self-inquiry…”

    Pointers are powerful,
but without love, without inner space,
pointers are just chewing gum for the mind.

Time is the way thoughts are organized.

Now the past and the future are both inaccessible.

Your happiness is this moment for no reason.

Think of the future not as a means of acquiring happiness but a means of expressing the happiness you feel now.

The beautiful thing about that is that you’re not projecting onto your friends the demand, the subtle demand that they behave in a certain way in order to make you happy.

No object or person can fulfill our desire for happiness.

you’re really giving them the gift of their true nature, you’re placing them in the right relationship to their self.

    Undemanding affection.

Your happiness is not invested in the future. Your happiness is not dependent on what happened to you in the past. However difficult or traumatic your life may have been, and we all have difficult traumatic experiences, those experiences don’t tarnish your being.

You are now free of all the traumatic experiences you have ever had. You don’t have to liberate yourself from them. You are already completely free of them. You are whole, at peace, fulfilled now.

You’re free of your past and free of your future.

“The spiritual path is not a solo endeavor. The notion of a self who is trying to free her/himself is a delusion. We are in it together and the company of spiritual friends helps us realize our interconnectedness.”
